Total Fire Ban days are declared by the CFA when fires are expected to spread rapidly and be difficult to control.

On days declared a Total Fire Ban, fires in the open air are legally restricted. This includes restrictions relating to:

  • Burning Off
  • Use of barbeques
  • Campfires
  • Welding / hot work
  • Beekeeping
  • Driving vehicles
  • Commercial catering
  • Use of chain saws and lawn mowing
  • Farm and road machinery
  • Incinerators
  • Wildlife scare guns
