Upwey Fire Siren

UPWEY CFA FIRE SIREN

Fire Siren Upwey

Have you heard a siren in your area and wondered what it means?

The siren at the Upwey Fire Station is used 3 ways;

1. Siren Test
During the morning of first Sunday of the month the siren will sound for about 20 seconds. This a test only and does not indicate an emergency event.

2. Short Siren (30 to 90 seconds)
Indicates the Brigade is responding to an emergency incident nearby. Expect to see members arriving at the station and CFA vehicles in the area responding to the incident. Stay informed.

3. Extended Siren (5 minutes)
Indicates that a current emergency has been identified in the local area. The emergency incident will impact people in the area. You should seek further information immediately and stay informed.
