Congratulations go out to Ross and Josh, two of our recent recruits, who successfully completed their General Fire Fighter (GFF) course over the weekend.
They will both become operational members and further strengthen the response capability of Upwey CFA.
Five of our dedicated Upwey CFA volunteer firefighters — Beth, Darron, Jay, Jesse, and Mike — are taking on the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb 2025! 🧑🚒🏃♀️🏃♂️
This year’s climb is more than just a physical challenge — it’s a powerful mission to raise vital funds for Cancer Research and Crisis Support. 🎗️💛
For our brigade, this is deeply personal. Many of us have lost loved ones to cancer and mental health struggles. And this year, Mike joins our team of climbers just one year after his own battle with bowel cancer. A strong team working together to raise hope, awareness, and funds for others facing tough battles. 💪❤️
We’re also incredibly grateful to be supported in our training by our amazing fitness coach Maddie, who’s helping our team stay strong and ready for the challenge ahead. 🏋️♀️🔥 💥
Help us reach our fundraising goal! Your support — big or small — will directly help those in need, funding life-saving research and support services.
How to support Upwey CFA and be in the running to win $10,000
Next time you drop off your containers, be sure to scan the barcode you see here and all funds from your deposit will be donated to Upwey CFA.
As an added bonus, the Container Deposit Scheme is running a competition from Monday, 5 May through to Sunday, 15 June 2025 giving away five cash prizes of A Million CENTS. That’s five prizes of $10,000 up for grabs!
The 54th Upwey Fire Brigade Jumble Sale has been a huge success.
The funds raised go towards updating our 3 brigade owned vehicles as well as the purchase and maintenance of equipment to ensure we can provide the best fire service we can for our community.
This event would be incredibly difficult without the support from local businesses and sponsors, and we thank you very much for your support.
Of course, it wouldn’t be possible at all without the amazing support from our incredible community. Without your donations and purchases of goods the Jumble Sale simply wouldn’t exist. Thank you all so very much.
Thanks also to the members of the brigade and all the other volunteers who not only helped yesterday but have spent many hours preparing for the day throughout April.
I hope everyone who attended had a great time, found a bargain, or just enjoyed something off the BBQ.
The Upwey CFA annual Jumble Sale returns this year Saturday 3rd May 2025.
A timeless tradition of the Upwey community, this once-a-year event offers an opportunity for the community to upcycle unwanted goods and score a bargain buy.
Keep an eye out for our flyers arriving in your letter box.
